This series of images came about while wandering the cemeteries throughout Vermont working on the Portraits in Stone series. It is a glimpse into the people that leave us and how those left behind cope with the loss. All of the flowers, tiny statues, painted rocks, angels and pictures placed on the graves are tiny prayers. Prayers not only for the deceased, but also for the living, so that we have the strength to carry the loss with grace.
